Farsighted

I had these
Coke bottle lenses when I was ten, see I was farsighted
No it wasn't easy -- the neighbor kids would tease me, call me farsighted
Mmm, mmm, mmm

But mama told me
My mama told me
There'll be a better day, she siad
There'll be a better way, she said
You'll see a little clearer
Every day it's a little nearer
You'll see
You won't always be
Farsighted

Through all those
Contacts and glasses, my days went passin', always farsighted
Seventeen years later, a miracle laser -- no more farsighted
Mmm, mmm, mmm

My mama told me
My mama told me
There'll be a better day, she siad
There'll be a better way, she said
You'll see a little clearer
Every day it's a little nearer
You'll see
You won't always be
Farsighted

Today I see the world a little differently
My friends still sometimes go on teasing me
'Cause I see the way that things could be
Not as they are--but so what if I see...

A world without fear or a world without tears -- I guess I'm farsighted
A world without fighting, a world that's uniting, well I'm farsighted
Mmm, mmm, mmm

Like mama told me
My mama told me
There'll be a better day, she siad
There'll be a better way, she said
We'll see a little clearer
Every day it's a little nearer
You'll see
I won't always be
You'll see
I won't always be
You'll see
I won't always be
Farsighted
