	Stuck at a Green Light   Stuck at a green light, fifteen cars in a row Nobody moving, nobody trying to go I'm in the back here, stuck in a Chevrolet Trying to see round the semi in my way Is it an accident? Maybe construction? Did somebody stall there and cause an obstruction? Whatever the reason I gotta get moving on somehow But I'm stuck at a green light for now Stuck at a green light, gonna be late for work Not that it matters -- the boss is a jerk Been there forever, put in the overtime Doing the right things, staying right in line Never get noticed or get a promotion Never rewarded for all my devotion I don't see a reason Why I'm not further ahead somehow I'm just stuck at a green light for now Come on, let's go, let's go, today Got places to be and I don't want to stay Stuck at a green light, watching the kids go by Headed to school now, walking side by side Someday we'll have one, someday we'll have our own That's what she tells me, but frankly I don't know 'Cause God knows we've tried to, we've done all we can But maybe a baby just ain't in the plan I don't see a reason Why I can't take that road somehow I'm just stuck at a green light for now And when that light turns red Gonna wish I took another way instead I'm stuck at a green light Stuck at a green light, Lord I'm stuck at a green light for now Copyright Jeffrey L.
